Where to buy the Lisboa Card and where to pick it up

Lisboa Card

The best place to buy the Lisboa Card, or Lisbon Card as plenty of people call it, is online, weeks ahead if you like: the voucher arrives by email straight away, and the card only starts on your first ride. Once you land, the only question is where to collect it, and the Ask Me Lisboa desk in the airport arrivals hall is open every day.

Why buy the Lisboa Card online

Buying ahead takes the card off your to-do list. You pick a date at checkout and the voucher lands in your inbox, ready to swap for the card once you’re in Lisbon.

It keeps your plans flexible, too: you can cancel the card until the date you picked, though not the combos with Pena Palace or the Oceanarium.

What you get when you buy the Lisboa Card online

One thing to know before you buy: online, you get a voucher. The card itself is a physical one, read at the metro gates and at some museums, and there’s no app or digital version.

So in Lisbon you show the voucher on your phone at the desk and walk away with the card.

It matters for Belém too: the free time slots at Jerónimos and Belém Tower are booked with the card’s number, so you book them once you’ve collected it.

Where to pick up the Lisboa Card: Ask Me Lisboa desks

These are the five Ask Me Lisboa desks where Tiqets says you can swap the voucher, up to 28 days after the date you picked:

The airport desk is the handy one: you swap the voucher in arrivals and ride the card into town. The desks stop swapping vouchers half an hour before closing, so if you land after 21:30, ride in on a single ticket and collect it in town the next day.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Lisboa Card website?

No. The Lisboa Card is issued by Turismo de Lisboa, and we're an independent guide. The card you buy through our links is sold by Tiqets and collected at the same Ask Me Lisboa desks as any other Lisboa Card.

Can I buy the Lisboa Card at Lisbon airport?

Buy it online first and collect it there. The Ask Me Lisboa desk in the arrivals hall swaps your voucher for the card every day, from 7:00 to 22:00.

How long do I have to collect the card?

With a Tiqets voucher, 28 days from the date you picked at checkout. Collecting it early costs you nothing, because the hours only start on your first ride.
