Porto airport metro: line E to Trindade

Line E, the violet one, runs from Aeroporto station straight into the centre. At Trindade you’re a short walk from the Avenida dos Aliados, or a change onto line D for São Bento and the old town.

From the airport into Porto

  1. E AeroportoTrindade

    27 min

  2. D TrindadeAliados or São Bento

One or two stops, for the Clérigos Tower and the old town

The first train leaves at 6:06 on weekdays and just before 6:00 at weekends, and the last at 00:42 every day (timetables valid from 7 September 2026). Validate again when you change line; within your ticket’s time it costs nothing extra.

Paying for the airport metro

The quickest is to touch your bank card or phone on the contactless validator at Aeroporto station, which charges €2.30 (2026). Without a contactless card, get the blue Andante card from the machines and load a Z4 ticket, the one that reaches the airport, which comes to €2.90 with the card.

For a lot of riding over the next 24 or 72 hours, start an Andante Tour here instead: €7.75 for a day or €16.55 for three (2026 fares).

The airport’s Andante shop sells it every day from 8:00 to 19:00. The machines don’t, so if you land later, pay the first ride by card and buy the Tour in town.

Buses from Porto airport

STCP buses 601 and 602 run to Cordoaria, by the Clérigos Tower, about every 25 minutes from 5:30 to midnight, and take around 45 minutes. A ticket on board is €2.50 (2026), payable by bank card, and Andante tickets work too.

After the last metro, the 3M night bus runs to the Avenida dos Aliados once an hour, from 00:30 to 5:30.

Porto airport taxi, Uber and transfers

Taxis wait right outside arrivals, and the ride to the centre takes about 20 minutes. Visit Porto, the city’s tourist office, puts the average fare at €20 to €25 for a taxi or an Uber, and taxis charge 20% more at night.

Uber picks you up at a spot the app gives you, which may not be the exit nearest to you.
