The Lisbon Pass: four tickets in one

The Lisbon Pass puts two big monuments, Jerónimos Monastery in Belém and Pena Palace in Sintra, in one purchase. With them come a hop-on hop-off bus round Lisbon and an audio guide app. The tickets come on your phone, and here’s how the price compares with the four bought separately:

Card with text "Lisbon Digital Pass" overlaid on a scenic view of Lisbon’s rooftops and historic buildings.

The Lisbon Pass

National Palace of Pena & Park · Jerónimos Monastery · 24 or 48-Hr Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour · Audio Guide App

Saves you €8.90 on the tickets one by one

What it doesn’t have is public transport. The bus is a sightseeing loop, not the metro, and the train to Sintra for Pena is paid on top.

Lisbon Pass or Lisboa Card?

The two are built differently. The Pass is a short list of tickets, while the Lisboa Card runs for 24, 48 or 72 hours and opens everything on its list while it does.

Bought apart, a 24-hour card and a Pena ticket, €31 and €22.40, come to less than the Pass, with the train to Sintra and 50 more sights on top. That sum takes Pena at full price, since the card’s 10% off is only given at the palace’s ticket desk.

The Pass does have two things the card doesn’t: the sightseeing bus and the audio guide app.

The Porto passes: entries on your phone

Porto has no card like the Lisboa Card: the Porto.CARD is no longer sold. Instead, Tiqets sells passes, and these four cover the big sights, each a set of three or four entries on your phone, none with public transport.

Frequently asked questions

Is there one card for Lisbon and Porto?

No. Each works in its own city: the Lisboa Card and the Lisbon Pass in Lisbon and around it, a Porto pass at sights in Porto. A trip to both takes one of each.

Lisboa Card or Lisbon Pass?

The Lisboa Card if you'll use the metro and trams and see several museums and monuments: 51 of them are included, and so is the train to Sintra. The Lisbon Pass suits a short stay built around Jerónimos and Pena, getting around on the sightseeing bus.

Do the Porto passes work like the Lisboa Card?

Not quite. They're tickets on your phone for a fixed set of three or four entries, with no public transport. The Lisboa Card is a physical card that runs 24, 48 or 72 hours from first use and opens a long list.

Which Porto pass is closest to a city card?

The Porto Explorer Pass, the only one of the four with a 48-hour sightseeing bus, which it pairs with a river cruise, a port wine cellar in Gaia, the Cathedral and fado. For Clérigos, the Cathedral and a cruise alone, the Highlights Pass costs less.
