Lisboa Card + Oceanarium combo

With the Lisboa Card, the Oceanarium is a metro ride away. Inside, a central tank of five million litres holds sharks, rays and an ocean sunfish, ringed by four habitats, each a different ocean. Tiqets sells the card and the entry ticket together, in one checkout.

Lisboa Card and Oceanarium: combo or separate tickets

The combo is the same card and the same entry ticket you’d buy on their own, plus a 10% code for later Tiqets bookings in Lisbon. The card’s length is yours to pick at checkout.

Two separate tickets cost less, though, whichever card length you choose. The Oceanarium also prices its ticket by entry time: the afternoon, from 16:00, is the cheapest, and the morning costs the most.

So buy the card and the ticket separately, and pick an afternoon slot if your day allows it:

Either way, the ticket takes you right round the big tank. The habitats around it are the rocky North Atlantic coast, the kelp forests of the temperate Pacific, the coral reefs of the Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean, where the penguins live.

The Oceanarium laid them out so that, from the walkways, the habitats and the big tank read as a single sea.

The fish to look for is the ocean sunfish, huge and flat, sharing the water with sharks and rays. In all, about 8,000 animals live in the building.

The penguins got a new home in August 2025, after ten months of works. The 29 Magellanic penguins share it with 12 Inca terns, seabirds from South America’s Pacific coast, and from the lower floor you can watch the penguins dive.

The metro to the Oceanarium on the Lisboa Card

The card covers the ride. The red metro line runs to Oriente, and from there you walk through Parque das Nações, the riverside district built for the 1998 World Expo.

Once there, the Oceanarium opens every day from 10:00 to 20:00, last entry 19:00.

Nearby, the card also takes money off the Pavilhão do Conhecimento science museum and the cable car that runs along the river.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Oceanarium included in the Lisboa Card?

It's on the card's discount list, at 15% off the ticket. The combo adds the ticket itself, though the card and the ticket bought separately cost less.

Can I cancel the Lisboa Card + Oceanarium combo?

No, this combo can't be cancelled, and neither can the Oceanarium ticket alone. The Lisboa Card bought by itself can, until the date you chose.

How much is the Oceanarium for children?

Children aged 3 to 12 pay a lower rate, which also changes with the entry time, and under-3s go free. Children under 12 have to come with an adult.
