Porto
Porto card or Andante Tour?
The Andante card is Porto's transport ticket and a Porto card is for the sights, so for a city break you'll want one of each. The Andante Tour covers the metro, buses and urban trains, airport ride included, from €7.75 for 24 hours (2026 fares). A city pass gets you into three or four big sights.

How the Andante card works in Porto
The Andante Tour runs for 24 or 72 hours from your first validation, on the whole metro, bus and urban train network. It can’t be topped up: when the time is up, you buy another.
The blue Andante card is the one you reload. At the station machines you can load up to 30 tickets of the same kind onto it, and each trip uses one.
When a single Andante ticket is cheaper
For a light day, the blue Andante card can work out cheaper. It costs €0.60 from the machines, and you put zone tickets on it: €1.40 a ride in the centre, €2.30 from the airport (2026 fares).
Each ticket covers a number of zones counted around the one where you start, so a Z2 does for the centre and the airport needs a Z4. For a whole day in the centre, the Andante 24 for Z2 costs €5.35 plus the card, less than the Tour.
The Tour 1 wins on days that go further out, from four rides at the airport fare. The airport ride plus three in the centre still costs less in single tickets, and on a day of walking the old town, a few of them do the job.
Andante and a Porto pass by length of stay
For one full day of sightseeing, an Andante Tour 1 covers the ride in from the airport and that day’s metro, while the Highlights Pass takes care of the sights.
For three days, the Andante Tour 3 covers the whole stay for €16.55, well under three Tour 1s. For a two-day stay, two Tour 1s come to a little less. Add whichever pass fits your days.
With the Explorer Pass, the sightseeing bus does a lot of the riding, but you’ll still want an Andante for the airport and the trips the bus doesn’t make.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Andante Tour the same as a Porto card?
No. The Andante Tour is only for getting around, on the metro, STCP buses and urban trains. A Porto card today is a city pass for the sights, with no transport in it.
Can I use contactless on the Porto metro?
At nine stations, in a pilot scheme: the airport, Trindade, São Bento and Campanhã among them, for trips that begin at one of them. You pay €2.30 a ride, and once you reach four rides in a day the total stops at €7.75, the price of a Tour 1 (2026 fares).
How do I get a Porto Andante card?
For the Andante Tour, go to an Andante shop, the airport one included, a CP ticket office or a Payshop agent, since it isn't sold at the machines. The blue rechargeable card, €0.60, is the one you get from the machines, for single tickets.
